TECHNICAL BULLETIN SUPER CORR A is a special lubricant/corrosion preventative compound formulated without sulphates, chlorides or halogens that is unexcelled in preventing deterioration and contamination on all surfaces of electronic equipment and mechanical close-tolerance components. SUPER CORR A contains extremely long-lasting, specially formulated and proprietary anti-corrosive inhibitors that provide a superior lubrication coefficient and protect components against wear, moisture, general and fretting corrosion, surface static electricity, corona, and other electro migration problems.
SUPER CORR A easily outperformed all other products evaluated by a leading materials testing laboratory under Federal Test Method Standard #791B (5% Salt Spray Corrosion Test) with a documented 232 hours of continuous exposure to salt corrosion. SUPER CORR A exceeds Mil-L-87177A, Type I or II, Grade B specifications and amongst others is used by the U. S. Air Force to protect the intricate workings of the F-16 Fighter Jet and by the U.S. Navy on the P 3 Orion electronic surveillance aircraft. Civilian Aviation Aircraft also use SUP-CORR A for electrical or close mechanical needs.
SUPER CORR-A was tested by a leading international computer manufacturer for evaporative weight loss (a primary indicator of corrosion-inhibitor/lubricant effectiveness). After 1000 hours of exposure at 80°C SUPER CORR A had a weight loss of 40% (30% after 160 hours), the lowest of all the materials tested. SUPER CORR A: ? Is non-flammable. ? Has a decomposition temperature of 550°F. ? Will not freeze, even in high altitude applications. ? Is extremely resistant to air-drying. ? Does not attract contaminants. ? Does not impede the flow of electrons through connectors:low or high voltage.
? Forms an airtight seal; prevents acid, voltage or battery electrolytic leakage.
? Eliminates: Surface static electricity, Corona and other electro migration problems. ? Protects against wear, moisture, general and fretting corrosion. ? Non-toxic and non-reactive to most plastics:
Do not use on Styrene or Polystyrene. APPLICATIONS FOR: Electronic circuitry, connectors and components, computers, electrical motors, relays and terminals, etc; Avionics ? such as: controls, radio, transponder, RDF, VOR, DME, GPS, radar, storm scope, flight control computer, etc; light sockets and antenna interfacing; storage batteries; Passenger Master Control Panel, fuel shut-off valves (LRU?s), flap jack screws, flap tracks, actuators, hydraulic line B-nuts, fuel bladder rails, etc; and any exposed metal surfaces. Applications & PROCEDURES
Super Corr is a super thin non-flammable lubricant film with anti-corrosion properties approximately .020 in thickness
Applications SUPER CORR A is designed to protect/lubricate connectors, terminations and electrical bonds and grounds, relays, fittings, circuit boards, computers, and all Avionics ? such as: controls, radio, transponder, RDF, VOR, DME, GPS, radar, storm scope, flight control computer, etc - from moisture, general and fretting corrosion, surface static electricity, corona, and other electro migration problems. Other areas of application include Passenger Master Control Panel, fuel shut-off valves (LRU?s), flap jack screws, flap tracks, actuators, hydraulic line B-nuts, fuel bladder rails, interior and exterior light sockets, antenna interfacing, etc, and any exposed metal surfaces. Application Methods SUPER CORR A is manufactured in both aerosol cans (CO2 propellant) and in bulk. It can be sprayed, sponged, brushed, poured or dipped onto a component. Application Procedure SUPER CORR A can be applied during or at the end of production, during preventative maintenance inspections, or when a new component is installed. Shake or mix while applying, depending if aerosol or bulk is being used. Use extension nozzles provided with aerosol cans to access hard to reach areas. A 360 degree, end tip applicator, 24 inch extension nozzle attachment for the aerosol cans are also available. Components should be free of oils, flux and other surface contaminants prior to application of SUPER CORR A. It is recommended that a high-purity contact cleaner that cleans, dries and leaves no residue such as Lektro-Tech Super Micro-Clean be used to remove said soils. If, after the component is properly cleaned, there is visual evidence of corrosion damage, it may be necessary to replace the component. SUPER CORR is not designed to remove corrosion. It will clean and revitalize a "iffy" connector but can not replace damage areas.
For Aerosol applications apply material for a uniform coverage of the component from a distance of 10-12 inches, including pins and receptacles. Over sprays can be removed with Lektro-Tech's Super Micro Clean, (pure solvent cleaner), Acetone or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (M.E.K.). Two applications (coats) 30 seconds apart can be applied if required. Re-application of SUPER CORR should be performed as needed. Note: 1) Shake all aerosol cans prior to use or stir bulk material prior to use.
2) Non-toxic and non-reactive to most plastics: Do not use on Styrene or Polystyrene. 3) Mask clear plastic surfaces (windows, ports, etc.) before applying to prevent possible fogging on plastics.
